Find your matches

swidg helps you to find the right carpool matches. These are matches on a specific day, which have a start location close to yours, have a similar preferred arrival and return time window and go to the same destination.

swidg carpool matches list

You can search for a match by clicking on an empty travel day (=white) in the trip agenda.

  • The matches list is sorted by matches closest to your start location.

  • If this distance is large, it is probably a match on the road. A so called NearToRoad match. These matches are only suggested if you can pick them up within your specified detour time.

  • The light blue tile indicates the estimated detour impact for you as a driver

  • The gray tile indicates the detour impact as a passenger

  • “Not yet enrolled” is a match who is registered as part of your closed group, but has not installed the app yet. You can invite that person, which will trigger an invitation email to be sent.

  • Favorite buddy: If you tap on the yellow star of a match in the list, then that match will always come on top (independent of the distance) if that person will commute that day and has a compatible time schedule.

Especially if it is a new match, you can first verify where you should pick up the colleague by pressing the blue or gray tile and then consult the map.

Tapping on the blue tile will make you the driver in the proposal. Tapping on the gray tile will make the other user the driver.

By clicking on the “Send invitation proposal” the (extra) person will be invited. The invited person will receive a notification of your request.

You can go back to the matches list via the return arrow at the top left

You can also go all the way back to the trip agenda via the “Matches” button at the bottom

Future developments

We are working on a more easier way to create new trips. The following features are considered:

  • Configuring a trip in one screen even for multiple passengers at once.

  • Flexible filtering of matches, overruling the constraints set by the personal matching settings

  • Displaying all your matches on a map

  • Entering locations in one field, including landmarks

  • “Digital hitchhiking” by requesting a ride for a certain day with specific criteria.

  • Overruling your standard time scheme in a flexible way for a specific day

  • Remove a specific passenger from an agreement with multiple passengers.
